Outlier seeks to grow our in-house legal team through the addition of a junior to mid-level attorney in support of the varied legal needs of our several captive businesses across different industries, and our overarching parent company. Depending on prior experience and interest, potential areas of focus will be drawn from among the following: contract review and negotiation (including leases, supplier agreements, service agreements, etc.), M&A and capital structure matters including debt and equity financing, intellectual property portfolio administration domestically and internationally (principally trademarks), general litigation support and commercial dispute resolution, regulatory matters incident to our lines of business (e.g., real estate, health care, data privacy), multi-state human resources/L&E and immigration, internal compliance matters, and franchise system administration. Some prior experience in any of those categories is preferred but background in each of those specific subject-matter categories is not required, and prior experience is less important than the general strength of the candidate overall.
This position will interface directly with legal group colleagues (both collaboratively and independently), Outlier management and company-specific senior leadership, business divisions and project leads, outside counsel, and counterparties in collaborative, transactional and adversarial matters. Title, precise role and compensation will be tailored as appropriate to the individual hired; ultimately we seek a talented, promising and motivated individual to become an integral contributor as he or she works alongside us.
We anticipate that strong candidates will have at least five to seven years of experience in law-firm and/or in-house settings.
